I agree with ren, Johnny Foreigner are the bomb! The lo-fi recordings are part of their charm, and what make's the band all so interesting and different.

Will be interesting to hear them once some pro tools have been applied tho ;)

Hey! Johnny Foreigner are indeed one hell of a band! (I might be slightly biased as we released their last single!)
I agree that some of the recordings on Myspace quality wise arent that good but you can hear what they are trying to do but on the same note I do like the recordings as they are raw and how they should be not over polished in some big studio.
They have been in the studio to record their second single and they sound amazing without losing any of their energy, drop me a line and I will send you a link to a new recording.

I don't like the new version of We Throw Parties, You Throw Knives. It lacks the sparkle and life of the original. I may well have liked it if I hadn't heard the other version, but it just doesn't compare well at all. ...Do The Math(s) isn't as instantly grabbing as the other songs of theirs I've heard but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think it will grow on me after a few more listens.

JF do remind me a lot of Los Campesinos! but you're right, those song recordings don't do them much of a favour. It's enough for me to be intrigued but I'll have to take your word for it that they're better than they sound here!
