I was at this gig. It was a long time ago now but I remember it better than most other gigs I've been to. They were incredible but also genuinely self conscious about playing their first show on the other side of the world. You can hear it in her between song banter on the album.

Also before the show she stuck her head out the door of the pub to look at the queue of 100+ people waiting to get in. You should have seen the smile on her face, I've never seen anyone so genuinely surprised, before or since.

Curiously the singer needed lyric sheets for almost every song. It would have been nice if she'd been able to do without them but I guess not everyone has a fantastic memory.

I can't remember if we went back for the second show the next night, "same songs in a different order" as she says on the album. I'd like to think we did. If I'd known that was weekend was our one and only chance to see this band, I would have been there for sure.

I play these albums at least once a month and they never seem to get old. The singer's unique style is the first thing you notice but underneath that there's some really well written and performed songs by the rest of the band.

Come back to Annandale LWB, we miss you.
