Interpol – PDA

I almost wrote this as a Back When They Were Good piece, but that’s a little unfair based on just one dodgy album. That said, that album was bad enough to pretty much put me off of Interpol for a good while. Which is something of a shame, as I was reminded when I gave Turn on the Bright Lights a listen again recently.
As such, today we have an early version of PDA, one of the songs from that album. In typical Interpol fashion, it’s all delightfully vague. After consulting with those fun folks over at Song Meanings, we know that the song is about one of the following:
i. A messy break-up
ii. Religious sin
iii. Rape
Anyone want to take a guess as to which is actually right?
