Tin Star Orphans return from the yonder

Tin Star Orphans a five piece from Canada who used to be called Yonder. Now they are releasing an album called Yonder. Which upon reflection is actually quite a clever thing to do. I wonder if any other bands changing their name have done that before.
Anyway, the band come across a slightly more ramshackle, more amiable version of Arcade Fire. Various instrumentation appears at unexpected moments, shows rise and fall, all with vocals that manage to be both restrained and jarring depending on what is required. Written, it shouldn’t really work, but it’s not quite as eccentric as it sounds. If anything, this is far more radio friendly than it has any right to be.
Yonder will be released on May 5 via Sparks Music.

Yep – back in the late 70’s early 80’s there was an Australian band called Flowers who released their debut album called Icehouse in 1980. Soon after Flowers changed their name to Icehouse. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icehouse_(band)
great song. I think the band has another song called “wear a frown” that is really good too.
